Where the meanings come from
The meanings attached to numbers go back to Pythagorean numerology: one is the beginning, two is pairing, three is expression, four is stability. That system survived for centuries in the Western mystical tradition, and modern angel number readings essentially inherit it. The word “angel” was attached in the early 2000s, when esoteric self-help writing tied number symbolism to the guardian-angel idea. It is worth knowing that this is not an ancient tradition but a fairly recent layer on an old system — which does not make it useless, only something you should not claim more for than it is.
