Major Arcana
The Empress
The Empress is a Major Arcana card of the tarot deck. Its keywords are: Fertility, Motherhood, Abundance, Nature. Read below what it says upright and reversed.
- Fertility
- Motherhood
- Abundance
- Nature
What does The Empress mean upright?
Abundance, creative fertility and nurturing warmth surround you now. This card speaks of growth in every sense — a project, a relationship or a family taking root and flourishing. Let yourself receive, indulge the senses, and stay close to nature and to your own body. The Empress teaches that what is tended with love grows on its own.
What does The Empress mean reversed?
Creative block, neglect of yourself or smothering care take hold. You may be giving so much that nothing is left, or holding on so tightly that nothing can grow. Turn some of that nurture back toward yourself. Abundance begins where self-neglect ends.
